As an extra bonus, this book has the best description of the fair scheduler that I have read. Java 7 Concurrency Cookbook. Consider the feature set and usage of Hadoop only two years ago versus today. Either way, this is the single best book to buy if you are planning on setting up a Hadoop cluster or if fric have just inherited one. But now that this book has been published, maybe a better analogy would smamer that Bruce Lee movie where he provokes the ire of the old masters by teaching the “forbidden style” and then has to fight them to prove his honor.
