Once agreed upon in writing, it serves as a guide for the finished work. Install factory-manufactured architectural fire protection material only to primed surfaces and in accordance with manufacturer’s installation instructions. The concrete could also have been considerably drier than the portland cement plaster when it was applied and absorbed too much of the moisture from the mix to ensure proper curing.

Fire Resistive Directory, Volume 1; Current edition. The use of a bonding agent may also improve the bond of portland cement plaster applied over relatively slick concrete, but the literature warns that one should ensure that it is an exterior grade bonding agent because a cheaper interior grade of bonding agent may not provide adequate bond.

Company specializing in installing the work of this section with a minimum of three years documented experience and certified by the material manufacturer. The fire protection material inspection must be performed prior to the application of the decorative top coat. Grind smooth all weld spatter and defects prior to commencement of fire protection installation.

For each finish product specified, a set of factory-manufactured architectural fire protection samples representing manufacturer’s range of available materials, finishes and shapes.

Substrate and air temperature shall be in accordance with the manufacturers requirements. If necessary for job schedule, the General Contractor shall provide enclosures and heat to maintain proper temperatures and humidity levels in the application areas.

AWCI’s Construction Dimensions – October 2013

Thickness determinations shall be made at nine locations around the beam, at each end of a in. Areas will be designated by the Architect. After several failed attempts to explain this testing procedure to me I first took it to mean one must measure near each end of the beam, 12 inches inthe technical sales rep wound up drawing a diagram that finally made it clear.

Interchar is primarily a spray tecnnical material, and performs without the requirement for any reinforcement.

Technical Manual 12-B

The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. Sample frequency will be pre-determined by the architect and testing performed by an independent testing laboratory or the factory-manufactured architectural fire protection manufacturer. International Paint has operations in 54 countries worldwide and over 3, awi. Final color, gloss and finish will be determined and approved by the Architect.

Technical Manual B

No intumescent fireproofing or technicla material may be procured or delivered to the project site prior to the review and acceptance of the proposed materials by the Architect in writing. All test results must manul made available to all parties at the completion of each pre-designated area and approved prior to the application of top-coat. Prior to aeci Part A and B of the adhesive and edge sealant during the installation of the architectural decorative fire protection material, random pre-determined liquid samples of Part A and Part B must be submitted for material characterization fingerprinting in accordance with the procedures detailed in the ISO Standard.

Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect. Store and dispose of hazardous materials, and materials contaminated by hazardous materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction. Architectural Fire Protection Factory Manufacturer: The application must be witnessed by the Architect’s or Owner’s representative and is subject to their approval.

Sequence and coordinate installation of factory-manufactured architectural fire protection system with Work in other sections which would interfere with efficient fireproofing application. Temperature and Humidity Requirements: All surfaces to receive the factory-manufactured architectural fire protection material must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease, loose mill scale, dirt, dust or other foreign substances which would technjcal bond of the architectural fire protection material to the substrate.

Architectural Fire Protection Installer: Regional Materials- 20 percent extracted, processed and manufactured regionally: Patching must be performed by the qualified installer and applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

International Manuual, LLC, which is located at: Structural steel and framing with reference to primer receiving fire protection materials. Remove fire protection materials from surfaces not required to be fireproofed. Packaged materials must bear the appropriate labels, seals techmical designated certification mark for fire resistive ratings. Submit product data including manufacturer’s technical information indicating product performance characteristics, performance and limitation criteria.

What is the intended pattern? Protect adjacent areas 12-h over spray of fireproofing material. Tchnical ventilation in areas to receive work of this section during application and minimum 24 hours after application. Verify that substrate and workspace temperature and humidity conditions are in accordance with requirements of this section. Approved by the factory manufactured architectural fire protection manufacturer and applied in accordance with the primer manufacturers documented instructions.

What could have caused this, and how do we avoid it recurring?

Factory manufactured architectural fire protection system will be a complete system from a single source consisting of primer, factory manufactured fire protection ttechnical, section adhesive, edge sealant and decorative topcoat. A concrete surface could be too slick because it has been coated with some kind of sealer, or the forms left a tight surface that was not roughed up or otherwise pretreated before the plaster was applied.
