That being said, I wished the author had showed us a stronger bond between Erin and Nate back in high school so that I could truly believe in their love. Sometimes our first love IS our greatest love. Erin has never forgotten Nate and wonders what might have been. Throughout the novel Erin questions the effect that the loss of her first love Nate had on her and whether neth could have, or should have, tried to change that.
If you can bring yourself to believe that first love can be True Love, pick this one up. Unfortunately, this is a technique that many writers have not yet mastered and alaays result in the loss of the ‘flow’ of the story.
When he proposes she starts to wonder if being just content with her life is enough. She realizes she needs to find NATE.
